April guest designers and new Design Team Members

Today, we are welcoming 2 new members to the design team and introducing our 2 April Guest Designers. First however we need to say goodbye to our March guest designers and 2 of our design divas.

Dina Kowal
and Katie Skiff have done an awesome job this past month as our guest designers creating beautiful cards with our images. Thank you so much for inspiring us ladies!

We have been blessed to have had Janice Melton and Deb Vandersteeg as part of our design team for the past 6 months! Both of these women are sweethearts and talented artists. Thank you ladies for sharing your amazing talent with us, you are going to be missed!

The two talented ladies who will be joining us as guest designers for the month of April are Cheryl Rowley and Tammy Maynard. You can read more about each of them below.

Tammy Maynard- Hi, my name is Tammy Maynard and I am so thrilled to be the guest designer for Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Stamps this month. I absolutely love all of the stamps with scripture. It warms my heart!! I have been paper crafting for about 7 years now and about 2 years ago, discovered stamping and cardmaking!! WOW...I never would have thought that I would love to sit down and color. I started out with an obsession for Copic markers and I haven’t looked back!! I hope that I am able to inspire you just a little and then my goal will be accomplished! I am married to the most wonderfully supportive husband who nurtures all of my desires both spiritually and crafty. I am mom to a son and also a step-son and step-daughter that I love as if they were my own. They have all given us 5 of the most beautiful granddaughters ever. I just love all of those girls!! I am currently homeschooling our oldest granddaughter who has dyslexia and I have to say that it has been the most rewarding job I have ever had in my life. My hubby just recently retired at the very young age of 55 so we get to spend lots of time together. I really love having him home all the time!! I live in a very rural area in SE Idaho and for the most part love it. It’s kind of hard going from a city girl to a country girl. Thank you for allowing me to share a little bit about myself and look forward to working with this amazing company!!

Cheryl Rowley
- Hi! My name is Cheryl and I live with my husband in Western New York. We are an hour south of Buffalo. I am in my 31st year of teaching. I work with students who have special needs. My husband, Dave is the News Director at the local radio station. We live in a small house near the Cassadaga Lakes.

I am excited to announce that 2 talented ladies, Jessica Fick and Neva McMullen, will be joining the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps team for at least the next 3 months. We are very pleased to welcome both ladies to the team. Below is a little more information about both of them.

Jessica Fick- I am a wife and a mother of two fabulous kids who not only loves her family but loves all things paper related! I love to design cards and scrapbook pages using some of my favorite stamp sets and papers. I also enjoy getting into my educational roots (being a elementary education teacher), teaching classes to adults who love playing with paper, markers, inks, and embellishments as much as I do! I'm thrilled to be on the Sweet 'n Sassy team as I adore not only the company's products but also Korin! I'm looking forward to getting to know both Korin and the rest of her amazingly talented team a bit more during my time working with them!

Neva McMullen- Hi, I am Neva (aka: n5stamper on SCS. I am an RN married to a wonderful man who is also an RN. I have 2 Daughters, 1 Stepdaughter, and 7 grandchildren. I am a self taught stamper introduced to the hobby by some co-workers yrs ago. I think I once told them "I don't have time for that". Yrs later here I am still stamping and loving it. I am soaking up the knowledge and inspiration obtained from SCS (a great bunch of talented stampers). I love rubber, acrylic, and digital images equally. I have also been fortunate enough to be on sereral design teams and am so looking forward to working with Sweet N Sassy stamps and design team.

Please join me in welcoming Tammy, Cheryl, Jessica, and Neva to the team! I know they are going to inspire us with their artwork and I look forward to seeing what they will create for us.

Be Still

Hi there!! Today is my final day as a GD here at Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I want to thank Korin for letting me play along, as well as everyone else at SNSS. I decided to end my reign with my favorite set released in March, Peaceful Swans. I also paired it with the weekly sketch at The Sweet Stop. The papers I used at from My Minds Eye Stella and Rose. I love the peaceful look of the blue and green.
I hope that you enjoyed my cards this month. I am looking forward to seeing the new images released in April.

The Big Top

Welcome to a new week, everyone! Today I'm previewing an acrylic stamp set that will be released this Friday, April 1. How sweet is this circus tent? And the font for the sentiment - adorable! You'll have to wait until Friday to see the rest of the set (unless Korin has more peeks up her sleeve this week), but I'm sure you can guess what the theme of The Big Top is!

For this card I stamped the tent image on Neenah Solar White card stock, and then stamped it twice more on Basic Grey's Infuse patterned paper. I cut out each stripe and alternated them, and then went back and cut the scalloped overhangs off the pieces I didn't use and adhered them on top of the alternating paper. The flag at the top was also paper pieced, and I added a small Martha Stewart pearl at the top of the tent.

My sketch is based on this week's Sweet Stop sketch. To make it work on my card I moved the sentiment up to the corner - hope it is ok that I cheated a bit! I wanted the focus to stay on the paper pieced tent, so I just tied a simple knot in my ribbon and left it at that. I hope you get a chance to play along in the challenge this week too!

What Makes This Card Special:
Stamps: The Big Top
Card Stock: SU Chocolate Chip; Neenah Solar White
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Infuse
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; SU Chocolate Chip; Tim Holtz Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy
Accessories: Nestabilities, Martha Stewart pearl, ribbon
Technique: Paper Piecing

Poppies.

This isn't a new set, but it's my favorite of all my Sweet 'n Sassy sets.... Poppies & Greetings. I stamped the main image of the set in Versafine Onyx Black ink on a book page, then painted the poppies in with white acrylic paint. I used Polar White Flower Soft and Martha Stewart glitter in the flower centers. This is my last guest post for the month.... sigh.... it has been lots of fun! Thanks to Korin and the Design Team for having me over to play!

Have a Beautiful Day

Even though it is Spring, we have had some crazy weather here in Ohio. Thunderstorms, hail and even snow was all yesterday! Hopefully today will be a Beautiful Day!

I'm showing a card using the Bluebird Digital. Used copics to color the image. Printed the image out twice so that I could cut out the bird and the 3 flowers in front to layer them to the image to give some dimension. Sentiment is from Birds & Roses.

Hope you have a Beautiful Day today! Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Flower Basket

Happy Tuesday... The weeks are flying by for March. I am excited for spring to come, and enjoy using these cute spring images.

Today I choose to work with Bethany Picking Flowers Digital image.

I also went for a Clean and Simple card today. As the weeks fly by, it seems my crafting time gets less. But CAS works pretty well. I colored Bethany with my copics, adding some pink to her belly too.

I drew the colors from the fun polka dot papers from My Minds Eye, and a solid cardstock. The button is from American Crafts. I did some stitching up the side of the patterned paper, and embossed my circle just to add a little bit of dimension and texture to the CAS card.
I hope you enjoyed my card. Enjoy your day!!

I colored the butterfly with my copics and added some sparkle with stardust stickles. It was then cut out and adhered to the card with foam tape. The "trail" is a rhinestone flourish.

Thanks for your visit today. May you be richly blessed!

Customer spotlight Sunday

I am very excited to introduce Dana Colbourne as our customer in the spotlight this week. I absolutely LOVE the adorable scrapbook page that she created! I almost always use our stamps to create a card and I forget how cute they look on a scrapbook page. Dana used our monster friends digi set for her project. I think that the google eyes she added are the perfect accent.

Thank you so much Dana for sharing your creative talent with us today! Have a wonderful day everybody!

Big Top Easel

The new Circus Digital Stamp Collection got my mind spinning about a pop-up easel card... this was sort of a prototype, and I'm not fully satisfied with my coloring, but I wanted to share it anyway. You can get a basic idea of the concept in the close-ups below - if you're familiar with an easel card, the format is the same, but with anchored images inside that flip up to hold the easel up in place. I'll post more detailed instructions and more photos on my blog.

Coloring was done with Touch Twin markers, and the sentiment is computer-generated (that font is called Ziggy Zoe - isn't that a cute one?) Hope you'll give this cute digi set a try!

Hugs, Dina

Hello Spring

Good morning bloggers! How is everyone this morning? We're finally enjoying some beautiful sunny weather here in the Northeast so I thought it would be the perfect day for a spring-themed card. Today's card is showcasing a new digi that will be released on the Sweet 'n Sassy web site tomorrow...isn't it pretty? Love it! It's right up my alley...birds, flowers, it's perfect!

I paired my image with wonderful paper from October Afternoon, the Cherry Hill line, which I just love. The layout was inspired by this week's Sweet Stop sketch, which I ended up changing just a bit to make room for the larger image size. Image was colored with Copics.

Enjoy and hope your day is a sunny one!

Who I Am...

Good morning friends! This is Lorie checking in this morning with my very first post on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps blog. I'm very excited to be here and to share with you this fun card I made.

I love lots of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sentiments but I'm a sucker for anything that I can make a card for my husband with so today I'm showing off a sentiment from the Love Sentiments Digital Stamp set which is also available as a clear set :).

As you can see I played with this sentiment in PSE and made it brown instead of black to better go with the papers that I've used from Basic Grey from there it was an easy put together with this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop.

I was a little nervous about sharing this card as it is definitely different from those you would normally see with a light color scheme and a cute image but I wanted to be sure that you all know how incredibly versatile the images from SNSS are!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll see you again soon!

The Peace of God

Hey there!
It's Katie again, here with a new card for you. I used the newest set, Peaceful Swans. I love how peaceful these images are, as well as the wonderful sentiments that accompany the images.

I love to add just a touch of gray to the swans when stamping on white. I also just added a bit of blue for the water with my Copics.

I paired up the images with papers from The Daisy Bucket, matted with some black cardstock to set everything off.
I hope you enjoyed today's card!! Have a great day.

Pretty Polka Dots...

Hello! Today I have a pretty card using Polka Dot Silhouettes and New Creature clear stamp sets. Please note, New Creature is also available in digi format.

I love hand-made embellishments, so I decided to make some pretty dimensional flowers for my card.

I stamped up 2 large and 4 small flowers, and 2 butterflies, then cut them out. On 2 of the small flowers (ones that are on top) I cut a slid (about 1/8") where the petals meet... then using an embossing stylus I curled up the edged of the all the flowers and butterflies. I rubbed the edges in a circular motion to achieve the look.

The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS99.

Thanks for stopping by!

Monika

Here's another reflection card using Peaceful Swans... just a different color palette. See that little polka-dotty layer peeking out behind the swan panel? That's the backing card that comes in Sweet 'n Sassy's clear stamp sets! My swan panel is watercolored with Adirondack reinkers from Ranger.

Peaceful Swans

Today I have some gorgeous images from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.
These swans are part of a new stamp set called Peaceful Swans.
I stamped three different swans with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and lightly colored them with copics.
I airbrushed the background to give the illusion of a pond.
I went for a monochromatic look with this delicious mint color.
DP is Echo Park Springtime, available from SNSS in a sampler pack!

Flowers for Bethany

Happy Tuesday Sweet N Sassy fans!! I am Katie Skiff, one of the March Guest Designers and I am honored to be playing with the newest SNSS images!!

Today I choose one of the newest Bethany images called Holding Flower Bethany.

I colored my image with Copic Markers, just shading Bethany keeping her pretty and white. I found some of my favorite Basic Grey paper, from the Koshi line, and drew my colors from there. I added a fun ruffle ribbon Pink Paislee along the bottom, and topped it off with some pretty satin ribbon and bow. I die cut the clouds out of felt, to add a little bit of a sky for Bethany.

I don't know about you, but in Montana...we are more than ready for some spring flowers!!

Thanks for stopping by the SNSS blog today. I'll be back each Tuesday in March to share with you some of my creations.

- Katie

Bethany Goes Pink

I sat down to color this darling Reading Bethany digi image, and my daughter asked me why she couldn't be pink. I didn't have a good reason, so I figured, "Why not?" It was a dreary, rainy day, and what better way to bring in the sunshine and joy than with some pretty springtime colors?

The card sketch itself is very simple. I wanted all of the focus to be on sweet Bethany. She's colored with Copics (see supply list below), and I printed out a digi sentiment to go with her. It's hard to tell in the picture, but her nose and the wing of the bird are outlined with a Spica glitter pen (pink for her nose, green for the bird's wing). A bit of bling (all pink bunnies need bling, my daughter also informed me) and some pink crocheted trim completed this sweet springtime card!

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Reading Bethany digi image
Card Stock: SU So Saffron, Neenah Solar White
Patterned Paper: Urban Prairie (Basic Grey)
Coloring Medium: Copics (BG10, BG11, R801, R83, R85, G20, G21, G24, YG00, YG03, YG63, YG67, B91, B95, YR02), Atyou Spica Glitter Pens (pink, green)
Tools: SU Tab Punch, Long Rectangle & Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Edge Punch
Misc. Accessories: Pink Crochet Trim, Pink Bling

Congrats KAREN!!!! Some new stamps will be coming your way soon :)!

And now for our lovely Customer Spotlight......

Today we have a beautiful card created by Emilee Smith. Emilee used our adorable Benjamin Bunny digi for her card but this cutie is also available as a clear stamp set. I think this image is just perfect for spring cards and Easter cards as well. I love the papers Emilee used and the dimension she gave Benjamin by cutting him out and popping him up.

Thank you so much Emilee for sharing your creation with us!
