Happy Independence Day with Winnie

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a fun patriotic card designed with the brand new Summer Fun Winnie clear stamp set (designed by Wynne Gettelfinger) for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps using a Splitcoaststampers sketch and color challenge...I think this cute new stamp set has so many great images for summer celebrations- don't you?

To create this card, I stamped the banner from Summer Fun Winnie with black archival ink first onto a piece of white cardstock (then stamped again onto sticky note paper to fussy-cut a mask), masked the banner, stamped the girl image over the masked banner (again, with archival black ink) and created a mask for the girl.

Next, I masked all of the images, used a modified version of the Smakin’ Acetate technique to create the contemporary “flag” background (add ink to a clear envelope  with markers in a loose flag design, spritz with water, “smack” the edges together, open the envelope and press the paper in to the ink).

I decided that the background was a bit too "loose" so I wanted to define the "flag" a bit by stamping the smaller splatter stamp from Grunge Elements with the denim blue ink in the “star” area and use the smaller line image with the cherry ink for the "stripes".

I finished off the card by coloring the Winnie image with water based markers, added the heart border using the Hearts and Stars Scallop Border Dies (cut the star border die four times) along with the tag sentiment and button/silver cord detail.

Thanks again for visiting us today- hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!
